In August 2019, heavy rains in Karnataka coupled with discharge from Maharashtra's Konya reservoir resulted in severe floods across the state. The death toll stood at 16, with over 4 lakh people affected. On 10th August, Karnataka government declared 80 talukas and 17 districts as flood affected. Titan Company, the lead company for the state decided to initiate a Company-level response in collaboration with Tata Trusts. Two RO water plants were installed in two of the most affected blocks; Gokak and Mudalagi in Belgaum. Covering four villages, emergency kits comprising of 12 items were distributed to over 800 families to support them restart their lives. Support was also extended to Anganwadi centres, schools, childrens' home, etc.
